Fall Fest

Post image for Fall Fest: On Gratitude

Yes, it’s that week again! Thanksgiving always seems to sneak up on us, no?

In making our preparations for the biggest fall bounty of the year, we wanted to take a moment to revel in gratitude, as it has been an extraordinary year for all of us. We are grateful to our community — that means you — for being part of our world as we explore flavors, people and places, and for sharing yourselves generously with us throughout Fall Fest. So many wonderful recipes have been posted that we’re going to get fat just reading them all.

We’re also thankful for our fellow bloggers, who have made each week so much fun for us. I wish we could all gather in a giant kitchen and cook a meal to remember.

Since all of us in the US are now prepping for Thanksgiving, we want to share a few of our back-pocket ideas for jazzing up the turkey table. We’ll be delighted to read yours, too, because sometimes a little bit of inspiration is all a meal needs.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Fall Fest: Sensuous Sweet Potatoes

Move over, sweet potato casserole. You’re way better than that marshmallow topping.

Fall Fest: Bodacious Brassicas

If you’re anything like us, you’re probably thinking “what the heck is a brassica?” It’s more familiar than you think.

Fall Fest: Root Vegetables

Ah, root vegetables. They are veritably the crown jewels of harvest, though often relegated to root cellars and dark places.

Fall Fest: Pears

Move over, apples. With their sumptuous curves and juicy goodness, there’s no denying pears are one of the most seductive fruits.

Fall Fest: Pumpkin and Winter Squash

Pumpkins and squash are way more delicious than jack-o-lanterns and cornucopia displays.

Fall Fest: Autumn Salads

Salads aren’t typically the first things that come to mind when we think of autumn, but indulge us.

Fall Fest: Apples

We’ve got everything from soups to cocktails and dessert in this week’s roundup, so prepare your senses for a bit of “oh my, yes.”

Fall Fest: Spinach

Fall is finally here, and we are continuing the fest with spinach — a most unexpected indulgence.
