19 Nov Looking Back
Invariably, when the end of the year rolls around, I tend to look over the past year and take stock of all that’s transpired. I was perusing my first Gastronomic Meditations blog, and chuckled at my initial experiments with blogging, trying to find a niche in the food world, and adjusting to a non-Manhattan, non-corporate life.
It seems like eons ago that I travelled to Scotland for a look at my mother’s past, mangled a few birthday cakes, and first started thinking about food from a philosophically sensual point of view.
I’ve now added those entries into this blog (see archives to the right), starting with “A New Kind of Uniform,” as they detail the path of a journey that has taken me from cooking classes with nursery school kids to the current incarnation of Gastronomic Meditations, soon to be The Gilded Fork. What a fascinating, exhilarating voyage of self-discovery it has been.
