Introducing Zenfully Delicious

You might have seen me post about my various health and food challenges over the past few months, whether here or on my Food Philosophy blog. You might have also seen that said challenges were the catalyst for my new company, Zenfully Delicious. Well, my friends, the new baby is here!

I’m so excited about this project, and extremely encouraged by the response we’ve gotten since the site went live Sunday during the Appetite for Awareness event presented by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness in Philadelphia. Right now the site is in “soft-launch” mode while we prepare for Phase II. (That means you can go peek, play and comment.)

The premise for Zenfully Delicious is simple: I — and my team — want people with chronic illness to live a delicious life. We’re approaching a range of chronic illnesses, from Fibromyalgia and Celiac to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Diabetes and all of their siblings. We love that a holistic approach is possible for all of them, and offers an alternative to medications that can sometimes do more harm than good (I am a living case study for that).

The site is free for right now, but we’ll unveil a membership program in the coming months comprising menu planning — crafted by Chef Mark — health & lifestyle coaching and great content from some great contributors, including some of your favorites from The Gilded Fork. Did you know that pretty much all of us here are dealing with one of those issues above? Yep. And we’re still doing our thing — because life is meant to be lived, not endured.

It is my personal mission that every person with a chronic illness have a home online where they are welcomed and understood, and we are working very hard to provide quality information and resources for you and your loved ones to do just that. With 1 in 2 Americans projected to have a chronic illness in their lifetime, this is an important mission indeed.

I will still be here at The Gilded Fork, just like always, though my recipe contributions might veer a bit more toward gluten-, dairy- or low-sugar menus. The great thing is that our Gilded Fork test kitchen is looking at the very same issues in order to provide you with food and entertaining alternatives for yourself and your very special guests. Synchronicity is a beautiful thing.

So I hope you will peruse both sites with fervor, and please give us feedback about how we can help you.
