19 Nov Gourmet Garage No More
Last year The Sister and I were most distressed by having to host Thanksgiving dinner in her garage, as there was simply no room to spare with the growing inventory of stuff imposed by The Twins — and a crowd of 15 dinner guests. (Which, by the way, is immediate family only, with a few missing. Yes.)
Given my family’s sense of humor, we managed to enjoy ourselves just the same, and the situation inspired many a belly laugh. We did not allow photos.
This year, however, The Twins and their Things (ok, only their Things, but I’m so tempted) are being moved to temporary storage, and we are headed back to our normal dining room for the grand feast.
Oh, how my soul has been freed. I can now return to my cantilevered displays and little touches, knowing they will not compete with the view of tool shelves, the spare refrigerator, and the washing machine. I am thankful.
