13 Oct GM Weekly Update 10/13/05
There was a bit of a scuffle in the Test Kitchen yesterday, hence our delay in publishing. Donna said I was hogging too many burners, so she chased me out while wielding a heavy set of tongs. She said I’m now officially prohibited from the kitchen pending further inquiry. (At least I washed my own dishes.)
On a more peaceful, but no less bizarre note, Chef Mark has uncovered some interesting uses of roots and rhizomes from other cultures, one of which has us shopping for mounds of yams.
Thankfully, despite all the ruckus, this week’s recipes will warm your body and nourish your spirit with comforting fall flavors, from sweet potato gratin, to butternut squash bisque, and zucchini & sweet potato bread. (My excommunication was worth every bite.)
