01 Aug Food at Hogwarts
Since I’ve been ensconced in Harry Potter land for the past few weeks, reading and re-reading the last several books, there are several food questions that keep popping into my head. There is no question that their daily feasts are something for the imagination to behold, with platters piled high and delicious morsels for all. I now have a particular craving for a treacle tart.
But I keep coming back to pumpkin juice and butterbeer. What do they taste like? Is the pumpkin juice sweetened? Is it thin or pulpy? And the butterbeer: Does it have undertones of butterscotch? How alcoholic is it? I realize my mind should be occupied with other things, but these questions are nagging at me. I’ve created a thread on the discussion forum for those of you with ideas on the subject. Don’t worry, I won’t give away any plot spoilers if you haven’t read Book Six. 🙂
