18 Apr Secret Ingredients
I love that technology now enables us to preserve our memories in customized formats that are not only affordable, but unique to our tastes.
I discovered an interesting site yesterday that enables you to preserve your favorite family recipes and food memories in a customized cookbook. The Secret Ingredients (a beautifully designed site, btw) was created by Kate Walling in an effort to provide a place “where families can learn more about where they come from and learn more about each other.”
She says: “Preparing food is a universal human experience. It can evoke strong emotions, remind us of our past and keep us looking into the future.”
I think it’s a great idea for holiday gifts (Mother’s Day is coming, folks), and the template makes it very simple to create the book itself. I’ve been thinking about doing something like this with my own family’s recipes, so now I can save myself the pain of having to lay out pages myself.
