I always knew dark chocolate was better. It seems there is a new variety on the market, CocoVia, that is rich in flavanols and has a potential blood-thinning effect. To give the new “healthy candy bars” using CocoVia an extra kick, manufacturers are adding vitamins and other health goodies into the mix.
I’m wondering how many Americans will now be sucking down chocolate because “it’s good for you!” This somewhat reminds me of the people who used to buy a box of SnackWells (are they even around anymore?) and eat the whole thing in one sitting. Well, they are low-fat.
We really do want to have our chocolate cake and eat it, too.
