23 Jun A Little Breathing Room
Holy cow, what a month! Things have been so nutty around here I barely know my own name anymore. It’s all good stuff, however, as we’ve finally launched the Gilded Fork Online Boutique, and our cooking classes are underway.
Now it’s time for me to take a little breather and remember why I started doing this in the first place: passion for the food. There’s so much going on in the Hudson Valley this time of year that I’m torn when trying to pick a weekend activity, but I definitely have my eye on a visit to Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Sprout Creek Farm. If I’m a good girl maybe they’ll let me help to make some cheese. There’s also Bobolink Dairy, and for a little shift away from cheese I’m dying to go back to Rogowski Farm, where we filmed last year’s Go Daddy commercial. So much to do!
There are wine festivals coming as well, so I’ll post those as they enter my radar screen. Mark and I are going to gather with our friend Lenn Thompson for the Hudson Valley Wine Fest in September, so I’m really looking forward to that.
Ooh, and Monday there is a Prosecco tasting in NYC, so Mark and I will be sampling some bubbly and gathering footage for our podcasts. In some ways I feel like my entire life has become fodder for said podcasts, so no friends, family or destinations are safe any longer. 🙂
What’s going on in your world? Our forum is awfully quiet these days, and I’m hoping it’s because everyone is out enjoying the sunshine, grilling for their lives, and savoring the sweet offerings of Summer. I think I’ll go sit by the pool for a spell while I wait to hear from you.
