30 Apr Springing Into Action
There is nothing quite like hearing the first bird of spring. That sweet little chirp means the snow is gone, and soon the blossoms will rear their pretty heads to greet us with the colors of a new season. At last.
Of course, that sweet little chirp has now become incessant, annoying chatter, and the pollen of those blasted blossoms is swelling my sinuses, but the warm rays of sun somehow ease my agony. Good thing, or there would be a birdie stew with edible flowers on the stovetop. But I digress.
In any case, when struck with that first blast of fresh spring air, I realized it was time to clean things up a bit around here.
The new Gastronomic Meditations™ has been restructured to make your navigation more simple and straightforward. The main navigation bar is now divided by topic, under which you can find all the titled sections from the prior version (for example, Behind the Toque is listed under “chefs,” and the Main Ingredient is listed under “food”). Recipes now inhabit their own section, and a convenient search feature has been created so you can find the information you need, either here or on the vast expanse of the web. Past articles and recipes have also been archived by month, and your handy control panel is the new Table of Contents.
In the midst of all this reconstruction, we also made a magnificent discovery in the wine cellar — one that will change things around here forevermore.
And to complete our spring renovation, we are delighted to announce the creation of the official Gastronomic Meditations Test Kitchen™, where Chef Donna’s culinary zeal will now be expressed in original recipes exclusive to this site. Our desire is to bring you our favorite ingredients expressed in a new way — one that inspires you to try new combinations for yourselves.
These changes are the first of many exciting bells and whistles that will be implemented in the months to come, and we are dizzy with ideas to make this the best stop on the internet for passionate food lovers. Your feedback has given us great inspiration, and we hope you will continue to fuel our creative fires.
